Break of the Dungeon is Back!
How long has it been since you've last heard and update about Break Dungeon? I think it has been so long that you might not know that I've change the name to Break of the Dungeon as way to reflect its Zelda influence. I basically put Break of the Dungeon on hold while I got my life together. It been a wild ride, but I am definitely a better person for it. There is no way Break of the Dungeon would have been the best game I could make it without taking that journey,m but enough about that. Let's get with the juicy stuff!
During my hiatus I didn't stop designing and developing. I've done some nice side projects to learn new skills and keep my old ones in shape and I decided to take that new knowledge and rebuild Break of the Dungeon. I was able to restructure the game so that it was a bit easier for me to work in and keep organized. I also wanted to enter into some pitch competition and I felt the last build I released was lacking. All in all it was a good move and it made Alpha 5 much better then the previous ones.
After the restructure I decide to start on Endless mode. As you might have guessed, in Endless mode you clear patterns until you've lost all your health. The number of monsters that you will face will gradually increase as you proceed through the game and clear the patterns. Endless was the simplest of the game modes I have planned and it was a good way to make sure my restructure was solid. I had a blast getting Endless mode done and I am happy to say you can play it right now!
That's right! You can play the Endless mode of Break of the Dungeon at this very moment. I recommend playing the desktop builds as they run a bit better than the web version. I won't be releasing on web, but it is the easiest and quickest way to play. Next on my agenda is Marathon mode in which you'll have to clear a set of patterns to win. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and let me know what you think of Break of the Dungeon. Until next time!
